Param Toggle

Privacy policy ยท Last updated October 7, 2026 (version 1.3)

Param Toggle is a Chrome extension that saves URL parameters you choose (such as debug=true) and adds the ones you check to pages on the sites you choose.

What it collects

Nothing. Param Toggle has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. It never sends data anywhere.

What it stores

The flags you save (name, values, your note, the sites they apply to, your groups and which are checked), plus your settings and, if you subscribe to one, a copy of your team list. These are kept in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer and are removed when you uninstall the extension. "Copy all" puts your list on your clipboard only when you click it.

Team lists

If you enter a team list link (https only), the extension downloads that file from the address you gave (with your browser's normal sign-in for that site) about every 30 minutes. Nothing is sent back to it, unless the list is on GitLab and you add a personal access token: then the token is kept in the extension's local storage, sent only to that GitLab server, and used to read the list and to add the flags you click Share on (as a commit or a merge request under your GitLab name).

What it reads

The address of the current tab, only on your device, to show the parameters already in it and to add your checked parameters. It does not read page content, and it does not keep a history of the pages you visit.

Permissions

Access to sites you allowChrome asks you the first time you turn on a flag for a site, or when you subscribe to a team list link. It is needed to add the parameter to pages on that site, or to download the team list. A wildcard such as pr-*.acme.com asks only for its site (acme.com); one whose site name isn't fixed, or a flag set to every site, asks for all sites, and that access is given back once no checked flag needs it. You can remove access at any time in the extension's settings or in Chrome's.
declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccessAdds your checked parameters to page addresses on the sites you allowed, inside Chrome.
activeTabReads the current tab's address when you open the extension, and reloads it with a parameter you check or choose to use there with "Use here".
scriptingOn sites you allowed: puts a parameter back into the address bar after a web app changes the address without loading a new page, shows the small "params on" label in the page corner (you can turn it off), and after a page load checks whether it was a full load and, if a checked parameter is missing, reloads the page once with it.
storageSaves your parameter list on your computer.

Sharing

Your data is not sold, shared or transferred to anyone, and is not used for any purpose other than the extension's single purpose described above.
